SRT Subtitle Retimer
A downloadable asset pack
SRT Subtitle Retimer. Subtitles out of sync? Shift every timing in an .srt subtitle file earlier or later by an exact amount (e.g. +1.5 seconds or -500ms), stretch or squeeze all timings by a percentage (fixes drift), or retime only a range of cues. Zero setup — pure Python, no libraries to install. Includes: srt-retimer.py (the tool) and this README with plain-English setup steps. Features: shift by seconds/milliseconds (+1.5, -500ms, +2s), scale factor (e.g. 1.02 to fix drift), --from/--to cue ranges, --dry-run preview, safe clamping at zero, clean cue renumbering. Perfect for: fixing downloaded subtitles that lag the audio, syncing fan-made subtitles, adjusting captions for a re-encoded video, or prepping subtitles before a stream. Requires Python 3 only (free; pre-installed on Mac/Linux). Pure standard library — nothing to install.
