File Organizer

File Organizer

Tidy any folder in one click. Point this Python tool at a messy folder — your Downloads, a photo dump, a cluttered desktop — and it sorts every file into subfolders by type: Images, Videos, Audio, Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Archives, Code, Fonts, and Other.

Includes: organize.py (the tool), README.md with plain-English setup steps, and this cover image.

AI disclosure: This project includes AI-generated graphics, as declared in the AI generation disclosure section above.

Safe by design: --dry-run previews every move before anything happens, files with the same name are never overwritten (auto-renamed to "photo (2).jpg"), and --undo restores everything to its original place.

Requires Python 3 (free; pre-installed on Mac/Linux). Pure standard library — nothing to install.
